Default M8 shocks

Anyone know if the rear shocks that are standard on the new touring models the same as the HD hand adjustable premium shocks, or are they something completely new?

I can't verify right now, but I believe they are the Part Number 54000008 units.

There is no new part # listed. The on line parts doesn't list this part as fitting any 2017 model, but lists the Low Profile version, Part Number 54000091, as fitting the 2017's.

That said, I'd guess it's the Standard Profile, Part Number 54000008 unit that comes standard on 2017's.

Might be wrong, but haven't seen anything to the contrary yet.

I believe that they are but I will verify. I say that because I was cross referencing parts for the new forks and the Rushmore forks, mine being a 2014, and there are a number of parts that cross over the major of which are the Fork Sliders, seals, spacers and bolts and screws. I spoke with the Harley Davidson Parts Dept. where I buy all my stuff and they confirmed that shocks 54000081 (54674-10) and 54000082 (54675-10) are OEM PNs for the Low and Glide models, RGS and SGS, and come with kit PN 54000091 (54680-10), which are the Low shocks. The standard height shock kit, PN 54000008, shocks have the PNs 54000093 and 54000094. Once I decided that I was going the OEM route for shocks I was about to get a set off of ebay described as "standard height" but I asked for pictures to verify the PNs and of course they were the "low height" shocks. It is absolutely amazing how many riders do not know this information to include myself not knowing that these shocks have been around for some years now. I decided just to foot the bill and ordered a new set from Surdyke. The numbers in the () are the P&A PNs, I guess Harley likes to keep everyone guessing by having an OEM PN and a P&A PN for the same items occasionally... Gotta go, just saw someone new on ebay advertising a set of the 54000008s taken off of their 2012 CVO Street Glide, so I am going to correct them before someone else gets caught up.

Although I do have a question; Are you saying that 54000093 and 54000094 are for the 2017 FLHTCU? If so then those are the same PNs I was referring to in regard to the 13" premium shocks. Thx.

All of the part numbers I posted above are for the '17s, models next to the part numbers.

I dunno about the 13'' premium hand adjustables, but I do know that the 12'' premiums have different part numbers for the 2017s
