You need to have your left switch pack replaced under warranty. Water got inside. Same happened to me and others.
1. No gear indicator.
2. No start with clutch pulled in (in gear) and only starting in neutral.
3. Cruse not working.
These symptoms are a telltale sign you have a bad left switch pack.
Or two out of three, and eventually all three will show up.
Good time to put lighted switch packs in if you choose. You will have to pay the difference.

What I noticed was my cruise shutting off on the highway, The Engine was pretty hot. It acted normal when cooled down ? Started with clutch in and in gear, fine. Just indicated Neutral all the time when hot. I could put some pressure on the shifter and it would go out and indicate the gear. Lighted switch pack ??? New one to me.

I've been riding with no issues , Temp is around mid 50's to mid 60's and not a problem was noted. Just when the Temp got up to 80 degrees, did I notice a problem. The engine was definitely hot. I thought maybe I could reproduce the same thing. Ran like a dream... I'm going in Tuesday for this issue.
