I had same trouble reading the dipstick on trans fluid
then i started using bel-ray gear saver oil it is red and very to easy see also it is a very good trans fluid
That stuff is made for the Tranny NOT the Clutch Plates... I wouldn't recommend it with a possible "Transfer" condition..
I have had the same problem with two different bikes my trans fluid was getting low so i found out by accident that is was going into primary local shop said was not possible check you primary now there are about 150 pages on hd forum about this problem and harley knows about it but has not offered a fix for it. I think it is going through the clutch shaft also my trans overflow tube was not stopped up
So you’re saying this has already been covered in a thread in a different forum? If so do you have a link to that thread? I would like to take a look at it.

Were both of these bikes cable actuated clutch models? How much did they transfer and did it stop when the transmission level dropped to a certain level? I’m starting to think the only positive cure for this problem is going to be my seal and nut solution. The solutions the MOCO has offered so far haven’t solved the problem across the board.

Mark, this is the one that I started way back when trying to enlighten some other folks over there of this situation after I discovered it on this forum. It never really took off and was mostly some people not wanting to read this thread that we have here but wanted to put there 2 cents in on how to fix the issue. Far from 250 pages though...... only 73 posts and most of them mine, lol.
Well back in May when you started this thread mjwebb did you figure the thread would make 250 pages by Xmas. It's really made a lot of riders myself included aware of the problem and checking my trans level every 1000 km or so. Thanks mjwebb and have a Merry Christmas.

no..as I have mentioned several times throughout..it was just a random check that resulted in curiosity hence decided to post to see if anyone else might have noticed a similar condition..never even considered it would become such a thing since I have never experienced it in all the years and harleys I've owned..Merry Christmas!
Before: 0.2L / 500Km oil transfer Now: 0L / 400Km oil transfer with the latest patch. Why does it seem to work on my bike and not on others?
It may be there is more than one cause of transfer, it just happens to fix what causes your problem. If it continues to work be grateful, not everyone has been that lucky.
