Am I the only one lost here....?

You got 4 oz from which plug? Is this left over oil that didn't drain from the cast plug removal?

You know they said the same negitive stuff when the 88,96,103 came out.
And yet the bikes are still on the road and bikers aren't stranded on every corner . Hell I had a 2008 Streetglide the TBW would just die Turning left, Right, Taking off. I called that bike the pucker,or ****** Pucker if I was pissed.
Bottom line is just ride and do your safety checks and enjoy.

Is this specified in the manual?

Or can anyone chime in and point me out where in the manual I can find how to check sumping?

Not experiencing any issues so far (knock on wood), but I am curious.

Since the sensor is NOT in the lowest portion of the sump you will never get all the oil from the sump. That being said there is a reason they call it a “dry sump system”. Believe it or not, ideally there isn’t supposed to be oil left in the bottom of the sump. A little residue (1-3oz) shouldn't cause drag on the flywheels but more than 3oz as measured from the sensor plug, may be causing drag, how much I don’t know.

highly doubt it, that spec was a result of new unexpected problems and subsequent SB1450 announcement..if your engine behaves great and unchanged since day one 'fugget aboudit' and don't lose sleep over it..if a 'serious' issue manifests itself it'll be obvious
