Do NOT skip over this!!! You MUST MUST MUST MUST ensure the bearing removal tool is FULLY INSERTED and do not trash the bearing. If you do trash the bearing pulling it out, you MUST MUST MUST account for every single piece of the bearing to KNOW there are not bearing in your crank case.

Other videos mention it in 5 sec. I've trashed bearings removing them but that was always on stuff that was not inside something. I was certain my tool was fully in, but it wasn't. I knew the bearing was toast, but I was happy the case was coming out... Vs cutting it out. When it was out, I moved on, but it didn't sit well with me. Only after the fact did it all sink in. I tried to pull everything out of the trash, used a magnet, but I had no way of "knowing" missing stuff wasn't lost or somewhere else. You MUST inventory every bit.

The stuff at top is what my indy pulled out of the crankcase after he split cases. A pretty costly screw up. I just didn't fully understand how bad it was for such a simple mistake. It's that bad. Don't do it. Learn from my screw up. It cost me a bit more than all the money I saved doing 2 cam jobs. 🤑 OH well, live and learn.

Sure would be nice if the tool was magnetized... 😏
