Stock Mufflers with 2" Fullsac Sound
I installed the stock mufflers that I had Fullsac recore for me and they sound pretty much like stock, just a little louder, but not much. I would say if you are looking for a performance muffler that you can tour 8 hours a day with without rattling your brain this is probably it. I think the DNT's with the Thunder Torque inserts had a better sound, but I'm not sure I would want to ride them long distance day after day on a long trip. I will admit the older I get the less loud exhaust impresses me. The Crushers (mellows because the quiet baffle installed) that I installed on my 15 RGS with the 117" motor are definitely louder than these modified stock mufflers, but again you have to consider that the 117" with higher compression, Fullsac X pipe, and a more radical cam might be adding to the volume of the mufflers. When I get the 117" kit installed on the M8 I will tune it with the modified stock mufflers, but I want to install the DNT's with the Thunder Torque inserts to see how much of a performance difference they make. I still think they are the best sound I've heard on an M8 so far.
As to how they sound compared to the stock mufflers with the packing removed and the Fullsac cores and ends installed, I think they are a little quieter and have a deeper tone. I thought the mufflers without the packing had a hollow pitch to them.
