Can someone point out where in the service manual it says the steering head needs to be adjusted at 1k service? If I remember correctly it's just the handlebar swing test, nothing more.

On m’y 2019 service manual, it’s at 25,000 miles the first interval

i guess it could be inferred that if it failed the swing test, an adjustment would be necessary. but if it passes the test, it would be redundant to do the adjustment.

I've watched them perform service and they never check the neck bearings. At 25 or 50k they do a swing test. Its possible but normally these don't go out often.

For the 19 you are supposed to torque the nut tight and then back off and torque it to a much smaller value. I took the fairing off (entire fairing) and played around with the neck bolt until I got a slight bit of swing past center. A hair tighter and it wouldn't swing and a tad looser and it would swing past both ways. There is a sweet spot for sure.
