Last time I did it, if I recall correctly, you slide it on from left to right.

I cant get it to stay down and lock in .

Look at this. He didn't show popping it up first before sliding it off.

Angle the inboard side down slightly while pushing in, then down.

Be sure it’s clicks in properly. I made the mistake of thinking it was after installing my new bars and it flew off when I was riding. Fortunately it was a cheap part.

Ya mine would not lock on . I glued it on ..
