Picked up a new 2015 Ultra Limited Low a couple of weeks ago. I was out on a ride, stopped for lunch...bike had a whopping 85 miles on it. Came back after lunch, start the bike and the electrical system light and check engine lights are on. Called the dealer and they said if it's running fine bring it in. It's about a 15-20 minute ride from where I was. On the way I notice my left signal isn't working... horn doesn't work..home button for the Boom doesn't work. Nothing. Entire left switch cluster is dead. Dealer says "oh yeah, we've seen this.. the board is bad". They replaced the whole unit in about 15 minutes and I was back on the road.
Not a comforting feeling on a bike with 85 miles on it.
Hopefully that is the case. I take it in next week for the saddlebag recall. I'm hoping my shifter doesn't fall out and my coolant doesn't leak.
On a positive note, this is the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden. I'm only 5'6" on a good day, and I can handle the 900lb bike with no issues at all. Handles great. The ergonomics work Harley did for the Low are truly first rate.
I haven't seen anything about this being a common problem on any of the forums. Probably just an isolated incident. I wouldn't like it if it happened to my brand new bike, either, but it probably won't happen again.
Not an isolated incident, mine was changed twice. Once at around 4000 mile and recently again at 7500. My dealer has seen this for awhile and they said a bad batch of control packs where out there.
