Default WHIM install cost from dealer

I just ordered a new bike and want to include a WHIM setup. I can install the WHIM my self but then the dealer is a Hour away so would have to make another trip there to get flashed. Thinking about just having dealer do install, what is average cost from a dealer for labor? Thanks

In your case, I wouldn't care about the labor cost. Just have them install it when the bike comes in. In addition, have them set up the WHIM to the way you are going to use it. That way, when you go that 60 miles to take delivery on your new bike, you are already set to go with everything!

I was quoted 1.25 hours. Installed it myself and just had the flash done for .5 hours. If you have satellite radio you need to relocate the antenna to the right speaker cover. Since I did that my sat radio looses the signal more than it ever did. May have to play around with that somewhat. Whim works great.

The other benefit to having them install it, is it will be included in the 2 year warranty if you do that. Anything (Harley Davidson part, not aftermarket) installed by the dealer when you buy the bike, becomes covered by the factory 2 year warranty.

!.5 hrs seems about right, even 2 hrs isn't crazy pricing.

One note of warning on that 2 yr warranty issue: make sure and check with .the service dept on that. I found out that there was only a limited time on my CB ( I think it was) when I had a problem. It was because I had it installed AFTER I bought the bike....like 8 months or so later.

This is what the warranty dept at Harley told my dealer service team.

As I recall, everything purchased and installed by the dealer within 30 days of the bike purchase are covered by the warranty. If you purchase an ESP, those items are also covered under ESP.

YES, that 30 days window sounds about right.
