Are you mounting this any specific way?? Or just using a wire? I am looking for a clean way to put in a usb port on my RKS.

My Garmin Zumo had a long wiring harness. I mounted it to the clutch bracket, then ran the wires into the nacelle. I cut off the blue plug and spliced the two wires from the harness to the blue and black wires plug wires with waterproof posi-lock connectors.

You could always get a USB right angle extension cable and run it from the left side of the frame up into the nacelle. Not sure about waterproofing, but that is what I would do. Here is an example of a cable:

Amazon 18" USB extension Amazon 18" USB extension

I've been looking for something like this for awhile, glad you finally found something!

Is this on all Rushmore models do you happen to know?

Also, has anyone found a plug that you can just use to plug into the existing port, or only have to splice in?

I can only speak for my 19 RK, but my dealer sure seemed to expect this wire to be there on previous models as well.

I never looked for the plug. It was so easy to splice into the wires with a Posi-lock, that I never bothered to look. Years ago, I bought a BUNCH of Posi-Locks at a Walmart on clearance, so I already had a water proof one the right size. ( Red ones I believe ).

on my 16 I had to get the dealer to turn on one of those connector in the BCM. sounds like they may not have to do that on the newer ones

I wouldn't be surprised Todd, but I'm glad I didn't have to.
