That’s interesting. I just changed my tranny oil to Valvoline full syn gear oil. Made no difference at all, but i’m Glad I did it, it was over due.

I put put in Valvoline full syn 20 w 50 last oil change. The top end was noticeably noisier. I’ll be switching back to conventional oil on the next one. JMO.

Default Valvoline

For what it's worth I use 20 50 VR1 in my twenty five year old Gravel riding tractor. I use it over the 30wt dino crude. It is very good oil..IMHO., anyway..

I screwed up once and put that VR1 synthetic, the blue stuff, in my primary. Clutch started slipping.

I just read the label on a bottle of Valveoline 20W-50 full synthetic oil. No where on it did it say anything about not to use in the motor of a Harley.
Cheers

I’ve been using Valvoline 20w50 synthetic for over 16 years in EVO, twin cam, and now M8. Works great!

I’ll play.....I use VR1. Ran synthetic in my 08 since new, but about a year ago went back to dino oil to quiet it down. Traded it for the 19 M8, and still run VR1
