Default OR Question

Headed out this weekend for a nice 12 day trip.&nbsp\\; Currently planning on busting into Oregon around Ontario, and taking 26 up to ride to Hood on my way to Corvallis.&nbsp\\; Any suggestions or more scenic route to get in there from Vegas via Utah?

&nbsp\\;If it were me and was sightseeing an AWSOME route would be to stay in Id. at Onteriao go to Cambridge hwy 71 to Oxbow "Hells Canyon" then west to Baker city and hwy 7 to Sumpter and Austin, &amp\\; hwy 26 cooler way to go thru Spray, Fossil, Antelope, and hwy 97 then however thru Hood........but I highly reccomend the smaller hwy's Oregon has some of the best.......I've been down that area twice in the last month and Awsome Riding and Scenery..........This coming form a guy that lives by Mt. Ranier, Adams And St Helens.......Also awsome country......
Have a good ride and watch out for the Critters........

It looks like the route up 95 to Cambridge and across to Baker City would add about 110 miles...does that sound right?

&nbsp\\;I get 160 miles Onterio to cambridge,Oxbow, Baker.
75 miles Onterio to Baker on 84......
It's a no brainer to me, Scenic or Slab.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp \\; Unless time is an issue.

Hey turdle, took your advice and made the detour up into Hell's Canyon and into Baker City.&nbsp\\; A LOVELY ride...thank you VERY much.&nbsp\\; That's why I post here, to get the "local's" take on what you might not easily find on the map!
&nbsp\\;
Ran home Sunday, 16.5 hours and 987 miles from Corvallis to Vegas.&nbsp\\; Does that qualify me for iron butt?

&nbsp\\;Your very welcome, I'm not exactly a local to that area, but have logged a couple thousand miles around there. Some of the best riding, with very little traffic, It don't get much better.

Some roads that demanded a lot of attention, but a lot of nice open riding too.&nbsp\\; Highly recommended.&nbsp\\; We rolled through there just before sunset.&nbsp\\; Beautiful scenery.&nbsp\\; Bambi and the entire family were headed to the water's edge to drink (as they so often do that time of day) so we rode very attentively!!!
