Default 1957 FL Pics

First post in this section from a newbie. Looking for opinions on original condition. What’s right (correct) and what’s not? Considering this as a first antique bike. Thanks in advance. Thick skin here and not my bike so brutal honesty much appreciated.

Do you have this bike now and looking for input into it? If so, maybe post some pics of it.

I would guess as you do not have a lot of real pictures and 500 things make a real bike - a real bike

the amount is new looking shiny chrome tells me someone what shopping at V Twin

do you have the real parts still that was taken off it - that is the money - my guess its a 50 / 50 bike 50 percent real 50 percent Chinese

its in the 7500 dollar range as I see it until better pictures showing

the stuff that to be absolute correct - frame - cylinders heads - matching engine cases and the number pad not thin as a match book cover flap - rims and wheel hubs - speedo - headlight spot lights I could go on but - well you get the idea

Thanks gents for the candid comments! I’m learning that there are a few levels here. The one owner fully documented bike down to the “mutt”. Different strokes for different folks.

I’m looking for a rider, not something to compete in shows. My preference is “looks original” without a lot of big reproduction parts. Patina matters as some of thes antique bikes don’t look real to me. I never thought I’d be a patina guy but I guess having a lot of gray hair these days has changed my thinking.

I’m OK with aftermarket engine/trans internals and brake parts to stay somewhat safe. I can can see where someone looking to spend in the $20’s and $30’s needs to be very careful.

Again, I appreciate the time and comments.

Still a 6 volt or a 12 volt conversion?

Unsure of the voltage at this point. Family emergency delayed seeing the bike. Current owner was formally trained as a motorcycle tech after high school so he could have converted to make life easier. He would have known what to do.
