Old fuel syphoned out. New fuel. Drain fuel bowl. Hopefully jets aren't clogged. See if it will run.

No one not mechanically incline unless you have Jay Leno's money should buy antiques. Just my opinion but...

I have restored/rebuilt vehicles as old as my 46 Chevy Truck.

PS.. think that has an oil bag over engine. Keep in mind, oil tends over time to run into engine.

Until you get it running, I would not add oil. But monitor it once running. Mine empties the oil bag in 6 months. It takes a whole bunch of blocks to get it all back normal.

Don't be surprised it doesn't dump some out doing that.

Once running, keep speed down. Tires may be old and cracks in them.

Check brakes.

Once you can drive it safely, change all fluid including pulling brake fluid out with a hand held vacuum pump.

Good luck trusting someone else doing all this unless you see them do it.

The standard rules apply. Clean tanks? Oil level low or not verify by kicking it over with the plugs out that it hasn't sumped from sitting, see what comes out of the crank case vent pipe with a drain pain or something under it.

After that, change oil and filter if it has one, add fuel, new battery and you're ready to see how it sounds. 2 Prime kicks key off full choke then one click open on the choke, key on, partial throttle and give it your all. (timing retarded if its so equipped)

I would have suggested first to add an oz of tranny fluid in each cylinder, let sit overnight, Remove plugs & turn it over slowly to wet the walls in cylinders..

And what they said. What Year is this baby ? Pics are nice too.

Hypoid gear oil - never use it in anything early machine - the throw away cookie cutters no one cares - 1903 to 1984 - trans factory book sayes what ever you use in the engine use in the trans

Marvel misery oil if your going to do just that and add some to the cylinders - we also run it in the gas to be a top oil lube what it was designed for originally anyway - it reduces the engine carbon

we have taken the time and attached a return line to a hose and then into a can so no oil dirty oil from the sump will enter the engine again - get it going and run it till you see clean oil from the pumps return line going into the can

why would you run it with what ever it is

65 was the last year for Panheads, so it's likely an early Shovelhead with a pan top end. 57 was the last year for HD riged frames.
