I put wrinkle black on my 1978 fxe. I had the engine out of the frame, made sure it was free from grease, oil etc. Sprayed it with the wrinkle black. Then I took 3 halogen lamps and cooked the paint for 24 hours. I did this about 10 years ago and the black is still there today. I will admit that the cases were a little rough, this may have helped to hold the paint.
has anyone attempted to wrinkle black their silver engine ?, i have an 07 std
man that engine could use some black ,
It would be a great thing to do if you were in the middle of a build.
I've done it before when the components were all apart. Used the oven for some low temp bake. Lasted the life of the bike. Looked great too!
it can be done with the engine in situ as the finish can be good - providing (like most things in life) you do the prep.
Clean and degrease and be patient with the masking,,,
