I have ceramic coated exhaust and I got a couple of minor tiny nicks when putting on some heatshields. I sprayed black heat paint on a piece of cardboard and had a tiny model paint brush that i dabbed the freshly sprayed paint on cardboard and gently touched the spot on pipe. Covered it up. If it is big scratch in obvious place it will show though. My technique will only work for tiny **** scratches. Not big ones.

If the original pipe is ceramic coated that is the best you can get for black. It is fragile, but no other type of coating will top it for pipes.
