Default Parkinson's Disease

https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-...s/syc-20376055

Was with long time childhood friends this weekend for a get together, drank some beer, had some food. Was a good time.

However, found out one of those friends whom I grew up with, worked with him on his father's farm during the summer, that he has Parkinson's.

Not good at all and there is no cure. I am saddened by this, can only hope that God helps in some way, and that his symptoms and pain are limited.

Currently his walk, talk and tremors are minimal but progressing I can tell.

Say a prayer for John and hopefully, no one here is affected by this disease.

Thanks for reading and your prayer.

Thank you!

CB

3 of my brothers were affected with Parkinsons. My youngest brother age 70 is totally immobile in long term care. My brother just younger than me died of Parkinson's last year on Memorial Day after years of being in a wheelchair. Now my brother 78 is showing symptoms.

Have him look into the carnivore way of eating (Youtube). There are claims that it has helped some with it.

Prayers to him

It’s everywhere. Lost my brother’s wife to it last year, and my first cousin, one year older than me and the oldest of my clan on my mom’s side has had it for twenty five years.

Hope your friend, OP, and the rest of those suffering with it are granted a measure of mercy.

So sorry. I wish John the best. It’s a terrible disease that seems to be affecting a lot of people. A lot of people in my family have had it. My mother-in-law suffered from it for years and succumbed to it after having lost all quality of life for many years. My father’s wife got an aggressive form of it in her early-eighties and passed in her sleep some years later, when it seemed that she was going downhill fast. My mother’s husband has developed it and is still relatively functional and active but it is affecting his speech and he has become less sure in making decisions, so it’s having a mental affect on him it seems. Sadly, his son who is my age got it when he was in his early-thirties. He has been very proactive in dealing with it and has survived for three decades but he suffers and has bad days. Diet and the timing and regulation of medication is a big deal for him. He now has a device in his body that regulates the intake of meds rather than taking them orally, and that has helped him a lot. Another thing that has helped him is movement. He is in a therapeutic dance group for people with Parkinson’s and that helps a lot. It seems that there are different strains of it, some very aggressive and some more slow and manageable. Best of luck to your friend, John.

Aside from those who are living with it, those that have had a loved one live and succumb to it understand the pain. It has been close to home for our family. Currently, I have the joy of playing golf with someone who is a surprisingly decent golfer. Meds control his life, but not his living.

It is good he has you as a friend.

God bless all/ anyone with the this disease. It’s terrible. I’ve had it for 13 yrs. Still functional w/ meds, but lots of pain. Sometimes unbearable.I can’t walk without a cane but I can still ride a bicycle and MC. Hope all the best, prayers go out to you all.
