its been awhile since i've been on here. Heres a update on my dad.
Dad is finished with all his 36 chemo and radiation treatments he had while at MD Anderson/Houston,Tx. he was very weak when i got him back to Louisiana.Wife and i drove down to Houston and loaded up there truck and my truck and i drove mom and dad home and of course wife drove our truck back home. Was was doing fair but not good when we got back home. Had no appetite what so ever before the holidays. no strength. looked de-hydrated. Mom gets appointment with local doctor here and they the doctors and doctors in Houston are talking with one another and decide it would be best to put in a feeding tube tempoary till he can get his strength back up. So dad goes back to hospital here for 2 days and they put infeeding tube. He's doing so much better now. His color is back, walking, talking alot, and now is eating on his own. They told me that this may happen after the kemo treatments. what happened was his asofocas<sp was burnt from the kemo. he's not up running around but he is doing much much better. He's on the mend now i believe. I want to thank everyone for there prayers and keep on praying for dad and family. We really appreciate it very much.Dad will have to go back to Houston in about 2-3 weeks for another x-ray and scan to see how much the tumor has shrunk. When they did the feeding tube they e-rayed him then also and they noticed that the tumor had already shrunk since the chemo treatments. I got all teary eyed of course That was great news. Hope everyone has a blessed holiday even thou there over now. I'll try not to be so long getting back on here.

Thanks for the update Jimmy. It sure was nice to hear positive news. Please know that you all are still in our prayers. Keep encouraging your Dad and let him know there are alot of folks keeping him in their thoughts and prayers...

Update on my dad:
We went back to MD Anderson/Houston,Tx. for dads 5 week check up after finishing up his chemo and radiationtreatments. some good some bad??? news. first the good news. Dads cat scan came back and the tumor has beeen shrunk some from the radiation he received. that was great news to hear.
Now for the so so not sogood news. OK here we go... During dads cat scan when they noticed the left lung tumor had been reduced, they noticed a spot on his right lung. they didn't say how big, just that is was a spot and small in size and probably in the beginning stages. We will be going back to Houston in 4-5 weeks for a biopsy on the right lung with the spot. Doctor told me personally that if it is cancerious that they are sure with the x-rays thet they have now that it can be cured with about 4-5 radiation treatments. Since its so small and just starting that they can zero in on this cancer and zap it and take care of it in 4-5 treatments. we're all doing well, considering. When we get back i'll let everyone know how the biopsy went. Please keep the prayers for my dad and familycoming. We appreciate it very much.Mothers doing really well keeping up with all this frecken paperwork and getting him to the doctors when he needs to be there. His local doctor is staying in contact with the cancer surgeons at MD Anderson. Talk to you all soon.

Still waiting on test results to see what is next. Should know something this week. If it is cancerous Dad will go back To MD Anderson for 4-5 treatments one weeks worth in probably 2-3 weeks. Please keep the prayers our way. I am so sorry for not getting back on here sooner but with work and back and forth to Houston its just hard. I really miss everyone here and it's time to ride.
