Hello everyone
I'm trying to replace the charging system on my bike. I got the cover off after a fight and a half.
I'm a little confused by what I've found. Every book, video, and person I've talked to says the same 'the stator will be on the left side of the primary but when I opened it up the stator is on the right side. Why would it be opposite of what I found out so far?

Take a look on-line here, where you can see a parts breakdown of your bike. If your bike isn't as per the website then it may not be what it seems! The only book worth owning is the correct factory service manual, readily available from any H-D dealer. If they don't have one in stock they can get one for you.
