Default Clutch cable leaking oil bad

i just replaced my clutch cable when I put apes on my 2014 road king and now it is leaking a lot of oil from the cable where the cloth wraps around the braided cable. Where it comes out of the trans housing and goes under the timing cover. It is a magnum shielding chromite cable. Do I need to tighten it or redo the whole install?

Was there an O-ring on that end of the cable? There should be.

For all interested, if you have the same problem trace your cable all the way down and make sure it isn't too close to the exhaust. Mine was routes too close to the exhaust and it burned through the coating on the cable causing the fluids from the transmission to leak out onti the exhaust. I'm lucky I caught it before a long ride. I could see that catching on fire at some point.

Exactly the problem I had on my '13 FLHTK when I changed bars and cables. Re-routed new cable, paying attention to how close to exhaust it was and even added some heat shield wrap in one area that was questionable. No more problems.
