I feel like this topic has been beat to death but I still can't find my answer. My ride clunks in just about every gear except 6th. Especially when downshifting... is this normal?

Yes, normal. To reduce it get some redline shockproof heavy gear oil for the trans (75w250) from www.myoilshop.com that is about the best you can do IMO. On some bikes adjusting the clutch so you get complete seperation of the plates will reduce it some as well. That is so it engages at the very beginning of the lever pull. I do both on mine and it still clunks but not as loud.
