So one can do this without a shop press? like using a Pit Posse wheel bearing tool would work? Its been a minute but I think I tried that on my 2012 Twin Cam years back and I couldn't get the bearing to budge in the inner primary.

Talking specifically the inner primary bearing of course.

I have a threaded rod setup for other things, not beefy enough for this but if that works could put together a beefier setup. Shops charge more than the bearing to press in. Thanks.

can also use a bottle jack if you have one, and large socket, in a makeshift shop press (i.e., vehicle frame). Whatever method, make sure you support the primary case appropriately.

 

You can also use a 1-3/16" impact socket (for late model primaries) with the tool from George's Garage.
