Does anyone have a primary drive locking tool (HD-41214) that they can fax me a profile of? I don't feel like paying HD's crazy tool prices when I can cut one myself on the mill.
You rock Joe. I tried doing a search for it and seeing if anyone I knew had one but no luck. I don't need one; just wanted to let you know we appreciate the offer.
The profile is attached. I also took a scientific approach and made my own tool; took a hacksaw to an old lawnmower blade.
djl, what bike did you use that tool on?
Don't know what the op is working on, but a 7.5" tool would never work on my '04 Dyna. I cut the same tool 8.5" long, and it was just a bit short, although it did work & I was able to lock up my primary with it. But an 8.75" or even 9.0" tool would've been better.

I am searching for a primary drive locking tool to.
I was using a piece of oak 1x2 until I cut it too short because the shorter and more direct it is the less strain on the bearings. I kept on shortening and eventually the teeth bit too deep into the wood. Then I just used a piece of scrap steel and measured it. It is 3/16" thick and 5 3/8" , I think. If it doesn't work next time I'm in there to put in the 32 tooth sprocket I'll just make a new one. It isn't that hard.
