Default Fort worth, texas to Wisconsin

Hi there. We are planning a trip to Wisconsin in september 2017. We want to ride scenic roads up through Arkansas, Missouri, etc and then do interstates on the return trip. If anyone has any ideas of roads and sights for the trip up and also around wisconsin, that would be so much appreciated. Thanks!

up into OK. Antlers area would work. Near Talahina find the talimena across to Mena AR.

From Mena through Paris.... across Mt Magazine or along the bottom both great roads. Up to Clarksville and up 21 or Ozark and 23 aka pig trail. Keep on north to Eureka Springs.

Alternative would be from Mena across to Hot Springs and up 7. Both paths are great AR roads, scenic and lots to see as you go, if you wish. Mena, Clarksville, Ozark, Hot Springs, Eureka Springs, all have hotel choices.

That's the part I know. Happy trails!

Highway 19 through the middle of MO is a great road. US 63 isn't horrible, if you're in a bigger hurry.

Northwest AR has some great riding. Pig Trail HD has some maps for about 15 different rides in the area on their website. It's easy to spend a week in that area.

I second the nomination on the Talimena. In fact the whole Winding Stair mountain range from West Arkansas into Oklahoma is Real Good Ride country. The Boston Mountains in Northern Arkansa near Fayettville might be real pretty with Fall colors if the hardwoods catch a little early cool weather. Missouri is nice. Then just pedal as hard and fast as you safely can to get across Iowa, Illinois, Southern Wisconsin.

Do you do Gravel ? Some Beautiful, Clear mountain streams on National Forest Service land in the Oachita Mountains south of Mena.

Oachita National Forest near Shady Lake, South of Mena

Just be sure one of those Wisconsin roads leads you to the Harley Museum in Milwaukee.

...what they said for AR and MO! MO19 will take you to US61 at New London. US61 is a pretty good ride into IA. At Dewitt, IA go east into IL then any choice of backroads to go north into WI.

If you want to follow US 61 in Iowa, let me know. I can get you on some much better roads that parallel it; unless you're in a hurry...

Contact Nevada72 on this forum. He lives in Milwaukee and has family in Rogers, Arkansas. He's ridden that stretch many times and I'm sure he can tell you which roads to ride. If you PM he'll get an email and answer you promptly. Mention my ID here since we've corresponded many times and he'll help you out.
