Last weekend I took my new to me 1997 Electra Glide over to France for a shakedown run, I have some friends in a band and they were playing just south of St Malo in a small town called Pleurtuit, So I booked the Saturday morning ferry from Portsmouth over to Cherbourg.

Once in France I had a 3 hour ride down to the venue then had a great night with the band and some of the more friendly French and had way too much beer

The next day I had an hour spare on the way back so popped over to Utah Beach and Sainte-Mere-Eglise, Both being playing important parts on D-day turning the tide in WWll. I found it very thought provoking being in both these places and thinking about all the lives that were lost
