AZ (Phoenix) for 3 days in early December - Need advice
Hey guys I will be a work conference in early December and will extend 2-3 days to rent a bike and tour around. I don't think the weather/roads will support any travel north of Sedona at this time of year and I would rather not plan going up there only to get whited out. Thus, I definitely want to start in Scottsdale and get to Sedona on day one then head south for the rest of the trip. I've heard things about Tuscon/Tombstone/Bisbee. Looking at maps, the roads look pretty boring but maybe it's the scenery that makes it better.
Any help you could give me would be appreciated.
I plan on picking up the bike in Scottsdale Thursday AM and getting on plane either Saturday night (need to turn in bike by 5) or extending bike rental to 1/2 a day on Sunday.
Thanks!

There is some great riding going out of Cottonwood SE on the 260 and follow it all the way to Sholow/PineTop. You can go all the way to Egar and down the 191 or turn on the 60 and male a shorter loop. It is a long ride over a couple of days and can be cold as Egar is in the mountains. If you want to stay around Sedona area you can head over to Jerome via the 89A and then down the 89 out of Prescott down to the 60 and back into Scottsdale. Lots of good riding around the central area of AZ. December will most defiantly be cold going north. Be safe.

Old Tuscon is worth the trip[boring ride],but you don,t have much of a choice that time of year. Short ride to Cave Creek[Hideout Bar Biker stop].
Try asking in the southwest part of the forum---you may get some decent responses --- I live in New England ,but have ridden the areas of Arizona since my Dad moved there in 1994-----The best rides are north, but just not a good time of the year---you,ll enjoy where ever you ride

out of the Valley:
Roosevelt Loop (ST RT 87 / ST RT 188 / US 60), Winkelman Loop ( US 60 / ST RT 77 / ST 177 / US 60) ( These 2 can be combined for a decent day ride), Apache Jct / Tortilla Flat / Apache Jct ( ST RT 88 ) ( couple hour just because ride ), Fountain Hills / Rio Verde / Scottsdale ( another couple hour just because)
southern part of AZ:
Arivaca, Nogales / Patagonia / Sonoita / Parker Lake
All those “should” keep you below the snow line. AZ511.gov and a weather app are my friends as I ride all year here.
Butler Maps are a great resource as well, find the G1 roads ( I’ve ridden all of them in AZ).
As your planned ride gets closer, pm me and I can go into more route detail... maybe even join you for some of it.
