Default Cold then hot

Bought a used low mileage 2017 Harley ultra limited about 2 months ago. It was my 70th birthday gift. From the age of 25 to about 45 rode different bikes, mainly to work, with over 125,000 miles.
Always wanted to travel across country but with job and raising kids, it never happened. As we have spent the last few winters in southeast Florida I wanted the bike with me for the winter. Original plan was to drive it down in my 14ft haulmark enclosed trailer. Always wanted that long ride so I decided to ride the bike down. Was going to leave last week with the warm weather but Michael came ashore and delayed my plans.
Left 5:00AM Sunday morning 44 degrees and pitch black from Baltimore. First stop was exit 104 in VA to fuel up and some coffee. Put my credit card into the reader and it says insert & remove quickly. Went to remove it and my hand and fingers were actually shaking, Weird feeling. Used my right hand to remove it and then quickly over to McDonalds for breakfast. After about 15 minutes, back on the bike and ready to go.
Getting off to get gas in north Carolina exit 99 and went to down shift. NO foot lever, it came off on the highway. Rolled into a gas station, fueled up and found a Harley dealer at exit 97 in NC. Only 2 miles away, what luck. Got their at 11:30am and they don’t open till 1:00pm. Next Harley was at exit 170 in South Carolina, another 126 miles. No use waiting so I set off. Had bike in 6th gear, manually pulled it down to 4th gear. Was able to slow ride, pick up speed then fully release the clutch. Got off at rest stop and changed t 5th gear.
No thanks to Harley navigation system I finally got to Black Jack Harley Davidson by calling them up as I already passed the exit. Manually shifted to 3rd gear. They installed a new lever and spacer under warranty.
Got to Georgia and it was in the low 80’s. Nice and warm. Rode to exit 38 in Georgia and got a room for the night. That was about 8:00PM. Got in 750 miles for the day.
Got up early, rode 238 miles to Orlando (low 90’s) to visit friends. Off tomorrow morning for another 193 miles to my destination and winter riding in Florida.

sounds like you had a fun day!!! I have an app on my phone that shows Harley dealers around the country... used it a year ago in Virginia when front bearings went out. 2 miles to nearest dealer...couldn't have planned that better!! But that app doesn't make it any easier or better...just that you know how far you have to go!!! Those are all part of a grand story you'll have once this trip is done!

Do the dealers show up on a map. One is 40 miles away and another 90. The 90 could be on the route you are headed.

Might want to go over the rest of your bike for loose hardware, especially if you haven't done so.
