Default California Loop

I finally got a little more saddle time in with my FLHR than just local riding. Rode from L.A. to Frazier Park and then over to the coast, camping at Islay Creek just south of Morro Bay. Then up to S.F. for three days to see my daughter and visit family. Then east on the 580/205/4 to Angels Camp. If you want to go to any restaurants or shops in Angels Camp I think you have to get there early, at least when i arrived around 4:30 everything seemed to be closed. The only place that was open was a nice little tavern called “My Bar”. Friendly local folks having a good time, a good vibe and good draft beer. Camped at Tuttletown Recreation Area (completely empty), then over Hwy 108 and Sonora Pass to Hwy 395 and back down to the high desert and home. Good roads, good weather, and very little traffic the whole way. The bike ran great, except for not very good gas mileage. It has a Mikuni flat slide carb. I was riding 70-80 on the highways, so that probably didn’t help. Also I now see some oil seeping around the back of the primary housing by the transmission. I never noticed any oil leak before, but the long ride must have brought it out. I am also going to try those fork fang wind deflectors to see if they help with buffeting. After the first day I broke out the earplugs! Did about 1300 miles total with the highways and running around the Bay Area. Cheers

I have the fork fangs. They work well.
