First fall ride of the season in the Shenandoah Valley/Western MD. We had a hot dry summer and trees are losing leaves as soon as they are turning! 45 degrees this morning and warmed up nicely into the low seventies in the
afternoon.
The Shenandoah Valley is stunning in the fall, even with the early leaf drop. It must be nice to enjoy that crisp 45-degree morning and then feel the warmth as the day progresses into the low seventies. Fall rides are such a great way to appreciate the changing scenery.
My favorite time of the year to ride around my home turf.
We love riding in that area. It's been a couple years and we need to get back there and do it again. Front Royal, Luray, Elkton, and then over the mountain into Crozet to eat at Smoke. My wife is in love with the Luray area.

Next time, take 55 west out of Front Royal all the way to Moorefield then 220 South till you get to 33 East over the mountains towards Harrisonburg to either 81 North or 340 north back to Front Royal. Its an all day affair but well worth it. 33 has some crazy hairpin curves through the mountain passes and spectacular scenery.

We've actually been on all those roads and you're absolutely right. Moorefield has that feeling of being in the middle of nowhere. US33 west of Harrisonburg is a phenomenal road for sure....lots of forest and mountain riding. Thanks!

That's an incredible ride. My mom lives off of 55 and we take that when we go to Virginia. Leaves should be getting nice there.
