A good ride is to head over to Western PA and roam around Amish country. Talk about some rolling hills and beautiful scenery. All of PA is pretty good for some riding if you just stay away from main roads and get away from the big cities. And watch out for those PA drivers. They're hell.
I know the original post is somewhat dated but the subject is still relovant. I dunno which part of eastern PA ??, but Im partial to a pretty nice day trip over there. The start point is optional, but we loop the Delaware Water Gap rec area. Rt. 209 south of Port Jervis and I-84 and ride it south. Plenty of sites to see like Dingman Falls & Bushkill falls.,then jump off onto Hgwy 402 north before the Stroudsburg congestion, (nice high country scenery) pickup Rt. 6 north to 191, and 191 back over to NY state at Hancock. Then take Rt. 97 south (oooh nice stretch of road-popular with the cyclist) I think American Rider did a writeup on this portion of road some time back.
Anyhow, that whole portion of Pa. east of I-81 and north of I-84 is quiet and offers nice rides. I wish to put aside more time to ride out there more often-usually we choose to ride north of Ct.
