Yesterday I am riding down the begining of The Natchez Trace in Tennessee. The posted speed limit, for this section, is 40MPH, as I ride the Trace about once a month I know that the Park Rangers love to enforce the speed limit on motorcycles. The speed limit does rise to 50MPH after you get south of HWY 46 in Tennessee.
A lot of curves on the first section, I am passed by a cage going over a double yellow line while I am doing the speed limit, thats OK I figured that they were in a hurry. Then two sport bikes pass me within my lane and oncoming traffic.
That is totally unsafe, you can risk your life all you want but don't bring me into your game.
Hearya! The risk of getting a speeding ticket will keep me pretty close to the posted speed limit. I acknowledge that some folks want to crank it up on a road like that, and if they are willing to pay the price - and ride/drive safely - then I can get over being passed.
Let 'em do what they do; you'll surely pass them as they're getting a ticket OR wrapped around a tree. I admit, I ride a few miles an hour over the speed limit but I'm not stupid while doing it.
Let 'em ride like idiots, not much you can do about it. Just make sure to say something to them about their riding style when you pull up to the crash scene down the road and they are being carted away on a stretcher.
it's only happened twice, but nothing p***es me off life a sportbike passing me in my lane doing 100 plus . If they come up on me and wait i'll wave them by with a wave and a smile .passing without warning at 40 to 60 mph faster is insane.
They can ride like idiots all they want, but when they pass in MY lane, they're risking MY life. That goes for Harley riders, too. You can always tell a chickens..t when he's not man enough to get in the oncoming lane to pass.
