Thinkin 'bout takin a trip up to Alaska, Anchorage to be exact. would be leaving from portland or. Anybody that has takin the ride before, I got questions, gas,motels,gun carry though canada, etc......experiences and thoughts?

Leave your gun at home. Road is good till you get to Whitehorse than gets progressively worse till you get to Alaska. Lots of gas so thats not a problem. Should be able to get a hotel in any of the bigger towns. Harley dealer in Prince George and Whitehorse if you have problems. Unless you want to go to Dawson Creek there is a bit of a shortcut at Chetwynd, cuts of a about 50 miles and is a nice road. You can pm me with any other questions.
