Left CT 8-05, returned home 8-30. 8,354 clicks. Bought $25 pup tent and hit sturgis for 2 nights. Stayed at the chip, great fun as usual. Headed to Cody Wyoming. Rode Chief joseph scenic highway [296]. Great ride. Then over the beartooth pass [212]. Awesome. Picked up wife at airport in Billings. Stayed in Red Lodge. Rode the beartooth and chief joseph with her then on to yellowstone for a few days. Headed for Missoula and took rt 12, lolo pass to Lewiston, Idaho. 77+ mi of twisties. Fun ride. Seen a moose. Took 27 through Pullman, Wa. Beautiful ride with rolling hills and wheat fields as far as the eye can see. Back to Idaho and spent one night on lake Coeur d' Alene and a night on lake Pend Orelle. Absolutley gorgeous area. Took rt 200 into Montana and up to kalispell. Spent a few days around Glacier NP. Going to the sun road which runs through the park is rated as one of the most scenic in U.S. I agree. Headed north into Canadian rockies toward Banff. Seen lots of mountain sheep and a grizzly. Banff was great. Lots to see and do. Headed north toward Jasper stopping at lake louise and colombia icefields. Best scenery yet, just gorgeous. Dropped off wife at airport in Calgary and started for home via rt 2 through northern Montana, N.D. and Minn. Really cracked the throttle here. Beautiful wide open country. Headed up around Lake Superior and Michigans upper peninsula. Real nice ride. Arrived home and still thinking about the awesome sights i've seen and the great people that I met along the way. Great road trip.
