Default Laughlin River Run Question

This will be my first trip to The Laughlin River Run, and first to that part of the country for that matter. Can anyone tell me the best campground to stay at? I prefer one with an experience like I had at the Buffalo Chip in Sturgis this year. I want to party and see hot chicks and listen to good bands. Thanks!

Sorry dude, don't want to burst your bubble or anything, but there are no "Buffalo Chip" style campgrounds in Laughlin. Last time I was there the HA's and mongols were shooting each other up at the Harrahs. Never been back since.

FWIW... we usually stayed at the Riverside Casino when we'd go. They have decent rooms, decent prices, and decent food. However... party wise it's not even close to "Sturgis" standards. There just isn't a real party atmosphere like there is in Sturgis, Deadwood, or at the BC and Glencoe campgrounds. The cops are way worse (especially after the shootout) in Laughlin than they are in Sturgis. Unless things have drastically changed in the past few years, I'd save your money and keep partying in Sturgis if that's what you're looking for.

Actually to be honest with you, many out of the state bikers have said that our very own AZ Bike Week here in Phoenix is way better than Laughlin is these days. In fact the biker grapevine says we have one of the better rallies on this side of the states. I know I always have a good time. Plus there's way more cooler places to ride here in the Phx area than there is in Laughlin, and the entertainment (band wise) isn't bad either. We have some of the same top name bands as Sturgis, but just not every night like they have.

Just my opinion, but I think you'd have a much better time (especially if you like to ride) here during AZ Bike Week than you would in Laughlin. There's no crazy **** like you have in Sturgis at the campgrounds, but there's still some fun to be had.

Like was said, there is not a "Chip" style campground. The Campground is a "State Park" type campground on the AZ side river right by the bridge with others around close. The Casinos do host RVs. The Riverside Casino has an RV/Campground across the street from the casino.

The run is basically a bike run Vegas style entertainment. There are lots of shows aimed at bikers in the casinos and many vendors. Motorcycle manufacturers host "Test Rides". Many Bike shops and Part Houses have parts for sale and installation on site too. There are many Bike shows and some planed rides. The Casinos have found that a lot of us come up early (Tuesday) to avoid the weekend crowds. So they have started to have shows earlier than just the weekend. The Vendors open on Wednesday and are open through Sunday. A big plus is the rooms are a lot cheaper before the weekend. But when Friday arrives, expect to pay BIG for rooms.

The problems that happened with the 1% clubs was several years ago. True, there is a Police presence. But if you don't cause problems, you won't have any.

Just ride safe ahd have fun.

Thanks for the replies. One of the biggest reasons I'm going to the LRR is due to that being the week of my vacation. I could not get off for Sturgis or even a week in the summer for that matter. I love to sightsee, I have never been to that part of the country. Basically, when I was in Sturgis, we would ride and sightsee all day, then party at the campground at night so we didn't have to ride. I was sort of looking to do that in Laughlin.

So, I'm sort of assuming that the town is like a mini Vegas? I have flown to vegas once. It was a great time.

Last, when I asked about campgrounds, I meant for a tent. Any tent camping there?

A "mini Vegas? I don't know if I'd go that far...there are a handful of hotel/casinos, and from what I've heard they are getting old and run down. The person that suggested attending AZ Bike Week in Phoenix is giving you good advice. It's April 10-14, 2013.

Not finding much online for campgrounds. Looks like the KOA there is RV only. I need a tent site. Any ideas?

We go down ther most years to visit Grandparents who winter in Bullhead City. There is not much for camping except RV parks full of snowbirds. The Avi ( Indian casino in Fort Mojave) has tent sites, I believe.

Bullhead City. Boulder City is in NV, between Hoover Dam and Las Vegas.

The generators were locked with a big cable and setting in a rack attached tobthe rear of the 5th wheen a:nd the thieves used bolt cutters. Not sure i would stay in a tent. I only traveled 500 miles to get there when i attended the rally. It was pretty dead. Id be bumbed if I traveled as far as ubare going to
