Default Rockford HD app

My 2022 CVO RG came equipped with the Rockford stage 2 audio. The system sounds better than I expected, much better than Boom stage 2. The screen and hand controls work as they should but I cannot get the HD Audio App Powered by Rockford to link to the bike.

I’ve watched a couple of YouTube videos and they refer to using the app when installing the system, not the system from the factory. Looks like a few features on the app that would be good to set the eq on the system. Did not see any instructions in the Boom manual.

So is the factory installed system supposed to link to the app and if so how?

Hello. You will need to purchase the Bluetooth dongle through the parts department at your local Harley dealership, we were told that piece is not included with that bike.

Bluetooth as in the Whim? My bike came factory with the Whim. In the on-line videos those bikes do not mention needing the Whim.

I would imagine he’s talking about the Bluetooth dongle part number 41000771. I just upgraded my Roadglide speakers and the Bluetooth dongle came with the primary amp.

Thanks, I will check it out. I’ve spoken to a couple of dealers and they had no clue…

Thanks for the update. I bought the dongle Wednesday and will try to get it installed once it arrives. Found a dealer that had one in stock so they are shipping it. Parts manger didn’t know much about it so we’ll see how it works out.

Did you ever get the dongle, didn't you have to buy the harness also?

I’ve did get the dongle and was told I did not need the harness. I went to install the dongle and guess what, I need the harness. Ordered the harness they past Saturday and should be in later this week. Bike is getting its 1k service May 28 and they are going to install the harness and dongle.
Dealers really have no clue about this on the CVO bikes. I’m still planning to add an additional amp and speakers in the lowers this fall so at least I’ll have the other parts already in place.
I’ve been reading your other thread. Any luck getting the dongle?

Hey ****, I've been following your thread also, maybe between the two of us we can figure this maze out. I installed the secondary amp, only to find out that in order to make all this work, I have to order the dongle and the harness, says so right in the instructions of the "Secondary amp installation kit (p/n46000975)". ok fine, back to the dealer and ordered them. Last Friday I get a call, parts are in. Got to the dealer and I got the harness but no dongle. Dongle is on back order till August. So now the secondary amp will not work until I get the dongle (I guess). I am going to the dealer today and maybe they can flash the radio to make it work for now, I'm hoping.
****, I don't think you need a dealer to install the harness, at least I didn't. When I got the harness it came with no instructions, not a one, go figure. Watch this you-tube video by Rockford and at 8:54 he starts to install the harness. I had to watch it a couple of times but really, the dongle can only connect to those other connector one way.
