Tie down locations
Harley parts and accessories book has the tiedown brackets for the front(14 and up).they mount in back of your lightbar brackets.you can also find them on ebay cheaper. Also, you use your existing acorn nuts instead of the supplied bolts.for the back, either crashbar or rim.
I do; for the front, 1 each side to for lowers at fender spacer and to crash bars below steering neck. At the rear either the bag support or pass foot bracket. All get quality straps with soft tie straps and at least one front set should be ratchet.
for the front strap right above where the fender meets the forks. It allows you to strap tight and not compress your suspension. For the back I run my strap through the rear wheel pulling backwards in opposite directions. This keeps the back end from moving side to side and also does not compress the suspension. This way the suspension moves freely and no blown seals

For the front I run the straps around the frame and for the rear I bought these https://www.yelvingtonusa.com/produc...-down-brackets. I tie my wife's sg and my sg the same way. Took. A trip to Arkansas earlier this rear with no problem or movement of the bikes.

I asked 3 different people at the HD dealer where to connect on the bike for Tie Downs and got 3 different answers..
I would prefer to connect where the fender meets the fork and avoid the suspension compressing but it seems like such a low center of gravity that the bike will wobble too much.
I havent heard any horror stories about doing it that way so I will give it a try
