I am aware of the brake hydraulics and not sure on the "control wires". Have not seen those only brake lines which I don't have the tie downs touching anything but the inside of the forks and wheel fender. And wrap towels so no paint or chrome damage as well as no tearing of the tie downs on a ruff edge. And as I said this works for me but maybe you have a better way which is great. And no lie 1000 Mile trips in one day numerous times with no issues.
