You shouldn't need it....However, I'm sure you know how the numbers rating for octane boosts works, don't you?.....If the bottle says it raise your octane 5 points, that means it will make 87 gas 87.5, not 93.
Worthless snake oil.
You can get 91-93 almost anywhere that is all you Hd needs anymore is a waste of money.
Higher Octane fuels burn slower not better they are used in Higher compression engines to help prevent fuel from fire to soon of fuel.
Higher compression starts at 10:1
Exactly there's no more boom in 93 than there is in 87,just more additives to prevent premature detonation in higher compression engines(there more to it but that's the easy explanation)
No I did not know that's how it works. I've got mostly 87 octane and have to search for 91. I recently have had starting and idleing problems and was going to see if octane boost would help. What do you think?
If it is a 2010 and you are having any problems you should have it checked out, adding a fuel additive is not the answer, you are just prolonging it.
On a side note, I added some to a truck I had in 1993 ended up causing the plugs to burn and the O2 sensors failed, costly mistake on my behalf to learn a valuable lesson.
Octane booster isn't needed in most street ridden bikes unless you upped the CR to over 10-1. Most any fuel with an octane of 93 will run these bikes without a problem. The pinging in the newer bikes comes from an EPA lean mixture. If you add some fuel they run much better without the ping.
