Default Brakes

My 76 FLH has GMA brakes with stock master cylinders. I'm at the point where I have to decide what to do. Do I chase down a complete banana caliper set up or do I replace the master cylinders with the specified 5/8 bore cylinders? What do you think works best? GMA has a replacement front cylinder with or without provisions for switches. I like the cleaner look of the pre disc bikes so I'm thinking of going that direction. It looks like the pre-disc setup had the starter on the right and the horn on the left with a toggle for high beam on the headlight housing. What about turn signals? Finally, what impact on value would this have?

Do I chase down a complete banana caliper ... You'd be better off resoling your boots and doing a "Fred Flintstone"

if the bike was worth 350,000 dollars you have a point - retro the bars is a thing that has an appeal to many - the directional control has a corresponding switch just like the hi beam switch except its three position and not 2

they sell a complete handle bar set up for internal throttle and wires that is also in play for those who want to go that way

using a GMA master will fix the brakes and the bike will stop as it should < with a GMA system and that's 100 percent over the banana, BUT you will need to drill the bars for wire holes and screws for the switches, and the holes are in a different spot then switch cover holes, just so you know the bars you need for this have NO indents - plain round 1 inch

It's not worth $350,000.00? Damn! I come from an antique car background so I guess I think in terms of maintaining originality. Thanks for the heads up on the handlebars. It currently has an S&S so internal throttle is not a consideration.

Nice Johnjzjz! Is that frame cover below the seat a factory part? I like the looks of it.
