When starting my 1975 fxe using the button it engages but will kick out or stop with clunk, I then wait for it to reset before i can engage it again.I just brought this bike back to working order after 15 years of non use, it has a brand new starter ( eagle iron). My thoughts are that the bendex is not working properly? In addition I also wonder if the timing is off making it difficult to start, cold start kicks are laborious??.
any thoughts of past experience out here would be greatly appreciated. My apologies if there is a thread on this already. thank you.
