Default Static Timing

72 FX Kick Only Dyna S Ignition. I know how to Static Time. I looking for tips on doing it with one person.

Drill a hole in the ignition plate that allows you to insert a pic, scribe, screwdriver, pin or something similar through the plate to hold the weights in the full advance position while you perform the rest of the procedure

You do Know there is a Tool for Holding the advance unit at Full... No Drilling required... Looking for a Picture... looking at it reminds of the old "beaver tooth" chain tool!!!

No cone motors with weights in my garage, but yes, I do know about it and vtwin sells a knock off pictured below. Looks like it might also work with a timer. I generally don't have much problem static timing enough to get it to start and then using the kicker to dial it in the rest of the way.

Tool is $25 and wait for it to be delivered, drill bit is in the drawer for immediate satisfaction.

And I still get the timing mark where I want it [advance mark] ... then remove condenser,[to access Advance cam] twist Mechanical Advance, and adjust plate so points "Just Open"
Each their own I guess...
