Default Just bought a 76 FLH disassembled

Frame and engine # match.
It needs a wiring harness, any recommendations?

I have a service manual and parts manual for it. Starting the research to begin the assemble. Any advise or tips?

I can follow up with pics.

You may want to consider joining "The Antique Motorcycle Club of America" for locating parts and other help for your project; https://www.antiquemotorcycle.org/

V twin has been selling the harness made in the USA for a couple years now - it comes longer then it should be but i am fine with that as we fit it perfect then and install new ends on the one end

He's way better off here. I paid and joined that site and soon found it left a lot to be desired with very little traffic. I haven't gone back.

what about a tranny mount? I heard you need to shim the tranny after you mate it to the engine.

Thanks for the tip Hellonewman

Maybe, maybe not on the shimming issue and that comes much later in the project. You have many other things to deal with beforehand. Keep the thread running do lots of pictures and updates and this group will get you through it with the least amount of problems. Some solid old school knowledgeable people in here.

d did not know if it was the bolts to short or if this had an aftermarket swingarm.

Yeh, as Dewey Crowey2 said, my '73 Super Glide had longer upper studs and I just spaced the right side out parallel to the left.
