Default thread lock...

seems like the old shove vibrates ever bolt, nut and screw loose....
.
i have used some locktite (blue), but, was wondering if that stuff compromises the electrical connections , say on the starter or solenoid studs ?
.
the reson for the concern is that (when replacing the cables), the starter stud did not look clean enough for a good connection,, and was wondering if there is a better product out there for the electrical connections? Just wondering how everyone keeps their stuff tight (eletrical and non electrical) ?
.
thanks,,
mb

I use loctite RED where ever I can, and Blue everywhere else, EXCEPT. Electrical.....
Red requires heat to break the seal, where Blue does not.

On electrical I use those nasty star lock washers, and try to double
Nut if I can. Loctite seals by not getting O2, they do make a Green Loctite
For electrical, but I've never used it. Reading on it ,it says it takes some
Heat to break the seal.

Be careful using the various types of Loctite ... using one intended for another purpose ( permanent as opposed to temporary ) can lead to some disappointing results when dis-assembly time comes ... http://www.loctiteproducts.com/product_advisor/ When dealing with electrical connections a dielectric grease will go a long way in keeping corrosion at bay ... Hope this helps!

Don't use it on any connection involving wires or grounds it can compromise things and pay attention to what Larry posted , using the wrong stuff can cause loads of grief on the old shovels .

There's very few places on a bike to use the red so avoid it to stay on the safe side .
