started taking apart the motor this week figuring on just putting all new gaskets because of the amount of oil that was getting slobbered all over the place..... i come to find out that at the base of the front cylinder where the case is put together it is has a pretty good gap where i think alot of my oil is leaking out sooo what im thinking is new cases... whats everybodies opinion on who makes the best? i have been looking at mostly s&s but i came across ultima and they look very beefy and have dowels to hold the cases in perfect... i have been researching and all i can really find as far as reviews is just their motors in general.
thanks for the help
That is unusual for stock cases, because they are a matched set. Are your cases HD? Do they have matching belly numbers? Without the proper tools for assembly, lapping and line reaming the cam cover, it is not a job most people can tackle.

If you can find them, Delkron would be the way to go. I think S$S bought them.
yamabond and honda bond gets hard like a stone BUT does not leak if its done right GREAT stuff works very good --
we have also had great luck with ( The Right Stuff ) loctight company, its like a silicone but its very different and does not let go once cured - < never had a leak come back that we used it to fix an oil leak < -- johnzjzj

they are hd cases at least the the half the has the vin is lol... the cases are bored to 3 5/8 and im not sure what the stroke is yet because i must a have missed a number on the crank when i called s&s but im thinking it was a 93".... the stealership i got the bike from said the motor wasnt rebuilt that long ago... i think they lied.....the breather gear under the cam cover has chewed up the case too....

I never had a problem when using Yama-Bond ... It works and lasts forever. Good stuff.
