Another Zumo option for Road Kings
Since we don't have a power outlet on the handlebar I opted to use a Powerlet socket. If you pay close attention you'll see all the wiring is sealed from the elements. I had intially planned to use a Powerlet power cable to the socket, but in the end decided to use the more flexible power cord that comes with the Zumo. I did keep the plastic female socket attachment and soldered the Zumo cable wiring to the female Powerletsocket attachment. I received the black rubber housing for the female attachment from Powerlet. The wiring runs into the nacelle and is practically invisible. It's now totally sealed from the weather.
I had my dealership do the nacelleinstall since I wanted the powerlet socket turned on and off by the ACC switch. They charged me .5 hours of labor to do this.

I then went with a chrome Ram mount to leave permanently attached to the handlebar. I added some shrink wrap to the U bolt.

The whole idea behind this is to be able to quickly detach the Zumo but leave behind a clean chrome installation that doesn't interfere with the clean lines of the handlebar.
Here you see the Zumo cradle powered into the Powerlet socket. I bought the short Zumo power cable from Powerlet that has the appropriate plug to fit the socket. It's still all fused to the low amp fuse on the Zumo power cord. It's hidden up inside the left nacelle to change if necessary.

Here's the finished product.

I had seen alot of install ideas for other baggers, thought I'd share what I did with my Road King.

If I want to use the Powerlet socket to power heated gloves I will simply change out the fuse to a 15 amp, should take 15 seconds.
Powerlet also makes a Gerbing plug attachment for heated gloves. Next winter I plan to pick up a pair of G3's now that I can use them!
