Mine has been doing it about every 2 hours on the road. Controls will work to switch from source to source, but audio remains stuck on first source. Controls freeze but audio plays. Audio cuts out completely but controls work from source to source. Had the unit "quarantine" the tuner - everything else worked but when switching to AM/FM or WB, no go. Has happened when stopping guidance, hanging up a phone call, switching ring tones, or just plain rolling down the road. No pattern, whatsoever.
The delay in resetting is likely not due to capacitors discharging, most likely due to the CANBUS which keeps the system energized for 30-60 seconds after IGN shutdown. You have to wait to reset until it's finished.
I'm convinced the freezes are due to bad firmware (mine's updated and this still happens) - the auto industry designer low-bidder choice has no experience with anything as complex with add-on modules for Sirius/XM, CB & intercom and it overloaded their design engineers, not the hardware (though that is woefully under-powered, as well).

Well, whether it is software, hardware, or just a poor design, I think when we spend the money for an option, like the boombox, it should work correctly. Hell, my car has the same type setup and it works flawlessly. Things like this really tick me off. We should not have to stop, shut down and wait 20 seconds just to change the screen from Nav to something else.
I am writing a letter to Harley Corporate to complain. Probably won't get a response, but at least my blood pressure will go down a few hundred points
MoCo has just informed my dealer they won't authorize infobrick replacement because EVERY incident of lock-up they've investigated has been OPERATOR ERROR! They want me to send them video - see this thread: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/new-r...tor-error.html
I have the '14 Limited and know several others with the 6.5 screen and no one has experienced the total system freeze necessitating a stop and restart. While we all have issues with the Infortainment center this is not one of them, yet...
I have experienced the freeze of the system only last weekend. Have only had it happen with skipping tracks on media while on the default screen. It hasn't done it on the songlist screen YET.
I can say it is the software and the programming/testing/debugging department is fairly weak in its abilities.
As much as I thought this system would be cool moco missed the mark by miles on this piece.
By the way I did have to pull over. Unplugging the USB connection and reconnecting fixed the freeze.
I have a 2014 Limited and I have a experienced a lock up of the volume rocker.Radio worked but volume rocker did nothing in any direction.Shut off, restarted ok.Only happened once.
After reading the posts here, and elsewhere, it is apparent there is some glitch in the system. It seems it can be brought on by a multitude of reasons. Different input sequences, different results, etc. It definitely is not bug free, and I think it should be addressed by the MoCo
