Default Installed 7" LED Trucklite in my Heritage Springer - Pics inside

First of all, I'd like to thank SRV_Fan for his good price and quick shipping on the 7' light and bracket. He is a great vendor indeed.

I had a 7" LED Trucklite on my Road King and the LED is night and day better than halogen or sealed beam. SRV hooked me up with a 7" "Big Friggin Headlight" and bracket. It was a very complete kit, nothing else needed, and a quality kit. The bracket is a very nice piece and SRV thoughtfully includes all bolts and washers needed.

The install is super easy; I soldered the factory wires to the socket that SRV included in the kit, the wires are color coded and it's very easy to install.

Now to the important stuff - the results:

Here is the factory light:

Here is the new Big Friggin LED Headlight. Tomorrow I will purchase the Harley Frenched headlight ring as the LED sticks out farther than the stock headlight ring. Common mod for all Trucklite installations.

Here is the factory bulb low beam:

Factory bulb high beam:

Trucklite low beam:

Trucklite high beam:

These pictures don't do the difference justice; it is like night and day. The LED is so much better than stock that it is really unbelievable. Took a ride tonight through the everglades and it was fantastic. I learned on my Road King that I can run the high beam on a 4 lane without blinding oncoming traffic, and it lights up the night like you cannot believe and is so directional that other drivers don't flash the brights.

The downside of the directional beam of the LED is that it's hard to see from a side angle. For safety reasons, in the daytime, I always run my passing lights which are very visible from the side...and I don't install LED passing lights as they are also very directional.

It's my 2nd favorite mod (straight pipes are #1 favorite). I highly recommend the mod for those like me that like to drive at night.

Great pictures and +1 on LED's being so much better than stock. I got a set from Discount Fleet Supply (including passing lights) a couple weeks ago for my Deluxe. As a matter of fact I haven't long got back from riding tonight myself. After a rather warm day it felt good especially down in the hollers where its several degrees cooler.
If you decide to get the passing lamps later on down the road, be patient when you install them. I ended up putting mine in upside down thinking that was the only way I was going to get them to fit; come to find out the plastic connectors were between the lamp and housing. Anyway, stay safe and watch out for those gators crossing the road!

Question, to use the LEDs do you also need a load equalizer?

You don't need equalizers for headlamp/passing lamps, just turn signals. The equalizer provides resistance in the circuit so the flasher relay will work properly.

I come from Missouri so I know what you mean about the hollers...unfortunately we don't have them in flatland Florida...only hills around here are the dumps! Lol. I don't miss the deer however, we don't have to contend with them.

I also got mine from DFS...great price and the 10% discount still worked for me. I decided to not go with the passing lights as the side view of the LED isn't so great..but I did notice on my Road King that if you run the high beam in the daytime the side visibility is a lot better and nobody will flash you. But good recommendation on the lamps in case I change my mind. I don't love the look of the different lights.

And funny you mention that, on US 27 (the edge of civilization) I saw a few glowing eyes on the side due to the wide beam of the LED...gators? Probably rats or coons but maybe they were gators!

I put the same on my Heritage. I got the Halo ring on the main light and also the two driving lights. I like them.

Well today I took care of the light sticking out of the stock housing, and picked up the Harley visor rings for everything on the front end

Before:

Note how much the LED light sticks out of the factory ring:

And after. Looks a lot better I think.

I was looking at doing the same thing to my heritage springer. Wondering if it was a kit with the 7" bucket and lights? Or do I have to buy the bucket separate from harley? The help is appreciated!

Hi Tccarl,

SRV_Fan (Kirk) on HSOA.org forum (Heritage Springer Owners of America....which you should join if you are not a member, it's a GREAT forum with tons of helpful members) sells the machined bracket you need and the headlight along with all the necessary hardware as a kit.

Makes is super simple to install and he's great to deal with. Nice gent.
