I ride what I ride and I like them all. Every motorcycle company I can think of has at least one bike I would want that they make. I'm the same turd no matter what I throw a leg over.

Have always liked all bikes always wanted to own a Harley and always have. A lot of riders have bad attitudes toward anyone elses rides who knows why. But the same goes for most everything cars, trucks, homes, women, dicks you name it. For me with these types it's in one ear and out the other then leave. Always have better things to do than listen to whiners.

Judge a person based on how they act, not what they ride.

You mean act like an adult and not a snot-nosed highschooler? That a radical idea you got there!

man that is one big old can of worms you opened up when you started this thread.
I've owned both, and I can tell you that what causes the hatred is both sides of the fence thinking that their bike is better, for what ever reason, where it's made, the history, the design, the technology, speed, handling, whatever, and not being open minded that the other side of the fence might have it better.

Also to a certain degree the fact that metrics are for the most part cheaper, so therefore if you own a metric you only bought it because you can't afford the real thing, or at least that is the stigma attached to owning a metric.

When I bought my Kawasaki 1700 bagger I did so because I was fed up of the Harley build quality, but let me tell you this, the Kawasaki was no better at all, and worse in some areas, the design sucked big time as well.

I don't dislike metrics, they are what they are, a copy of an original, but as with most things the original is usually the best.

I've had both Harley's and metrics. Sold my '83 Suzuki 1100 last month to an Iraqi/Afgan vet, good guy and he loved that bike as much as I did, so I let him have it cheap. It was mostly gathering dust in the garage, not being ridden enough. Good bikes are good bikes, good folks are good folks. Like some said, might as well be adult about it.

Use the appropriate tool for every task.

I don't see H-D at the track when I ride.

I like em all... and I acknowledge and respect all of them. My buddy sold his 2012 Street Glide and bought a house... he just picked this Boulevard up and we've been putting miles on em. He's had 3 Harleys and wants another HD but the timing ain't right for him to buy, he picked up the Suzuki for next to nothing and it rides well. Another buddy that I ride with a lot has had 2 Harley's and currently has a BMW Nine T. His dad has had probably 100-150 different Harley's and still has a 2000 Fatboy, but he's also CURRENTLY got a Ducati Diavel, Moto Guzi, BMW GS and two Vespas. LOL My point is this, just because you see somebody on a metric bike doesn't mean they dislike Harleys and the same can be said for somebody on a Harley. I'd like to own a Triumph Thruxton at some point.

Some people think putting yours down makes theirs better and it goes both ways. Harley owners have a reputation for being Harley snobs and I really don't know where that comes from. Every Harley rider I ride with don't care what you ride, it's all the same wind. But almost all metric owners I know kind act like they EXPECT me to be a snob BECAUSE I now have a Harley.

I recently had a friend tell me that he was turned away at a charity bike wash because his bike was not a Harley. I thought BS, I've never heard of anything so silly. Really, they are raising money for charity and they are going to act as stupid as that ? I think he was just trying to perpetuate the urban legend.
