Hi guys, it seems I don't have many Harley friends in the real world.
Every biker I meet I either get a polite huff when my Harley is mentioned or the worst one was when I first got it, posted it on facebook and it immediately got called a tractor (by someone who is supposed to be a friend)!
Why don't they like Harleys? I actually don't get it. The way I see it, just as you have cars for different purposes bikes surely are the same. Some to go fast, some to potter around on, some to look awesome on.
I've always wanted a Harley for pretty much the same reason I want a Rolls Royce. Big, comfy, beautiful in every detail. Something you can be proud of. So why on earth do the other bikers think that their plastic crotch rockets are so much better? And why are they so rude to say so? I think their bikes are **** but I don't tell them!
Do you even have this problem over the pond? rant over now x
Some of them probably do like Harleys and are jealous they don't have one.
You can ask those that criticize Harley, if they've ever ridden one. If they say no, ask how they can judge it. Poke them in the eye and call them sheeple because they are spewing ignorant things they've heard other people say, insult their intellect and man hood.
Then again, there are just some people who have given Harley a chance and (I can't imagine why) didn't like it.
when i had my honda vtx i test rode a bunch or harleys at a demo day. rode a v-rod, 883, 1200C, deuce, a buell and a heritage. didn't like any of them to each his own...and besides, there's nothing to admit to if you're not interested. a bike is a bike is a bike. the only people who differentiate one from another is an a-hole to begin with. so if i just ofended someone by saying that, it's because you're an a-hole and just don't know any better. i will ride what i want whenever i want, and unless you're paying my bills you can go..........
I agree, I usually never start the HD conversation. Aside from trail bikes, which were Hondas, all I've ever ridden was HD. I wanted a Harley and that's what I bought. Never got into spending $ on a Jap bike because I knew it wasn't what I wanted. Basically HD to me is commonplace, and the Jap riders that I run into will come check my HD and others out and comment, I don't do the same to them because, like said there's no interest on my part. I don't take notice to jap v-twin bikes, they basically don't catch my eye like a Harley Davidson does. Its like women, a common looking woman doesn't get a second look, but a super model walking down the street in my neighborhood, people gonna look.

well, cause everyone is different and is not going to like the same thing, but the reason a lot of harley guys can't or don't get that is cause they have their own heads stuck to far up their own asses to know any better.
which brings up the question, which one are you, a harley rider or a harley snob. you know, they are the people who believe that harley's are the only real bikes, but they also believe that their bikes were made in the usa, and i mean the whole bike. when in fact that only 60% of the parts were manufactured in the usa, the other 40% were made outside the usa. when i had my honda, it was built in ohio and 90% of the parts were made in the usa.. so people should get their facts straight before they start spouting off about what they think they know about harleys,,just sayin

Not many, but I was using that to illustrate that I don't notice jap v-twins, they don't catch my eye, but a Harley I will take a look at. I guess I don't know any better, I fall under the ignorant category. You couldn't convince me to unload my Harley in favor of say a Kawasaki v-twin. It just wouldn't happen. I'm sure even if I rode the Kawi, I still wouldn't. I like my noisy HD tractor ride. Like said, biased and ignorant, brand loyalty, im guilty, shoot me , throw **** at me I don't care, I own two Harleys.

Had a Kawasaki Vulcan 900 before my Street Bob. The only people who gave me **** were non riders. Really liked that Vulcan and was darn proud of it when I had it. All the Harley guys I rode with were always cool with me about it too. Most of them would complement me about how they liked the way it looked too.
Personally, I like all bikes and understand that every type has a niche. The only bikes I don't like are the ones with ******* owners who are insecure and worry about what everything else thinks.
My thought is I'll ride what I want and not give a rat's *** what anyone else thinks.
